Hae you ever trained for a race? I receitley ran a half marathon–well jogged it, lets say. The frist few miles wer enot bad but by about mile 8 things changed for me. “that is enought.” body parts were getting tired and beginig to hurt. “lets walk, or rest, or catch a ride., I have nothing to prove. But I wnted to finnish the race that I had begun even if it was not in the time I had hoped or could brag about. I wanted to finish more than I wanted to quit. So I finished. Nothing to brag about but a finihs. Life is often like the race I just described. We heare new truth and our heart comes alvie, then we hit mile 8. What are we going to do? THis is no longer fun or easy. Will we endure adn finish this race thatw e have begun?
I believe this, unless the benefit outweights the cost, you will not fiihs. Like the race I ran, the benefit of being able to say I finished outweighted the pain and suffering I had to endure. We should often remind ourselves of the benefits of knowing and following Jesus. A week ago when you began this adventure with GOd, you had no idea what God would show you, what you woudl experience, or what would happen. Nontheless you saddled up and rode. The adventure is not over, it hs just begun! You are now writing you new story. What will it be?
Remember there is a great reward in the advnture Jesus has invited you inot. There are some awesome benefits in this life and even more in the life to come! Grabsome friends and share your adventure, your story and lisent to theirs. Stay on your horse and keep riding! Adventure on!
Warinig; You can know what you need to do but hesitate or not do it fully. To live the adventure you must do (act on) what your heavenly father is saying. It is only then that you will experience the advnture (the life) your father has for you and be able to liv it to the full.
Hebrews 11:1-6; 12:1-3
What is hindering you from running well?
What are your potential rewards in this life and the one to come?
God, remind me of all the benefits of knowig and folowong you. My sins, past present and future firvene and not held against me. I hae a new heart, a new name, a new identity. Remid me of your words to me. Renew my mind, heal my heart! Remind me of all the benefits of knowing and being on adventure with you today. Guard my heat and proteact me from my enemy who wants to steal from me, kill me and destroy me. I am yours thaks that you could not love me more or be more proud of me. I love and need you today!
