I love football season! There is somethign abut the drama of the game. Two teams face off with one objective, win. Only one can win. I enjoy it the most when my team is in a bitter struggle and by miricle they do what it takes to win. They pull victory from the jaws of defeat, and walk off the field exhausted and bruised but with the sweet aroma of victory. We did it! Often when victorious teams are inverviewed, they will make a comment like this, “We knew we had a chance to win,” Victory almost always goes to the team who believes they have what it takes to win.
Today you are on the playing field of life. You will be haunted with the question, “Do I have what it takes to win? This is not a pep talk, it is much deeper than that. Don’t look for the answre to that question, from others and the events of the day. Take your question to the your heavnly father, he has answerd it, with a strong “yes, you are my son, and I am well pleased with you.” Do you hear his voice? Do you belive him?
What words would you use to describe yourself as a man? What are the answers that you have believed? Hearing from your heavenly father is the begining, you must choose to believe, trust in and rely on that truth.
How has your answer to the question, do I have what it takes? determined the coures of your life? WHo will you listen to? what is your heavebly ftehr telling you today?
My god and my father, today I take my question to you. Answer me in your kindness and love. Remind me that I have what it tkes to do whatever is needed today because you , my father, believe in me and are strengtheing me (Phil 4:13) Today I choose to believe what you say about me. Help me to live from that belief.
