Daily Prayer Guide

“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” – Psalm 5:3

  1. Begin by worshiping and thanking God for His goodness.
  2. Then, pray for yourself. Confess each sin and ask for forgiveness and cleansing. Pray for your personal holiness and Christ-like responses in every occasion, toward every person today. Without a holy stance, we have little of eternal value to offer others.
  3. Then pray for your family, mentioning each person and expressing each one’s needs specifically.
  4. Then ask God’s blessing on every appointment, personal contact and meeting you will have that day.
  5. In detail, ask God’s blessing upon your associates or co-workers.
  6. In detail, ask God’s blessing on the evangelists, shepherds, and other leaders of your church.
  7. Then inquire of the Lord for His direction on every decision you will be faced with. As you develop a personal and intimate relationship with the Lord, He can direct you quietly and simply. This does not happen overnight, it takes time. Depending on how much you desire to be guided, you will invest the necessary time to pray.
  8. Then pray for individual government officials and our nation.
  9. Finally, pray for the missionaries you support or know. Use your imagination to travel to every continent on the globe (naming specific countries) and pray for the gospel to reach them; for revival and restoration to break out, for the churches there to become strong (just praying daily for the body of Christ worldwide will build dedication and fruitfulness in God’s plan). Use a map.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” – Psalm 32:8

With the strength that early morning prayer brings; you can counsel, sensing God’s wisdom; you can teach, experiencing God’s knowledge. In the afternoon, after or during lunch, get quiet before the Lord again. At night, end the day in prayer. You will find so much to thank God for because daily He proves his faithfulness to you.

One of the biggest problems people have in their prayer lives is that they are not willing to repeat praying for the same thing daily. They think that praying over something once is enough. Never give up bringing your requests to God! Read Daniel 10 to see that our prayers are the funnel God uses to send angels to deliver comfort, answers, and assistance to others.
